MONIQUE GOYER
EDUCATION ARTIST AND CHOREGRAPHER
Monique Goyer has devoted herself to the teaching of the art of dance since the age of 18. Graduated from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in theatrical and modern dance with honours, she's also trained in the Humplhrey-Limon technique, in various styles of jazz as well as in classical dance of Franco-Italian origin. Experience and knowledge received from renown professors, her own researches, special training received at the University of Montreal and the University of Quebec coupled with more than 35 years of teaching experience has permitted her to develop a unique teaching approach including several specific techniques which is now being codified to be eventually released as part of a literary project. After years of generously sharing her teaching knowledge to more than two dozen different institutions, she, along with Alexandre Seillier co-founded the Conservatoire de Danse de Montréal in 1997. She directed the Young Dancer Department as well as taught Modern Dance and Interpretation as part of the Professional Educational Training Program. The closing of 10 years of existence of the Conservatoire de Danse de Montréal in late September 2008 incites her to move forward on her own personal project which gives birth to Le BALLET THÉÂTRAL DE MONTRÉAL which holds a mission of permitting quality dance education for the young public, the expansion of that art and freeing the infinite passion of dancing...
